SINTEF AS is one of Europe’s largest independent research organisations and is a non-profit research foundation. Every year it carries out several thousand projects for customers large and small. SINTEF Digital (part of SINTEF AS) conducts research and innovation in digital technologies and technology-oriented social sciences. Its multi-disciplinary knowledge base is used across all industries and helps its customers exploit and meet the opportunities created by digitalization and digital transformation. Furthermore, SINTEF Digital is represented in this project by the Smart Data Group part of the Sustainable Communication Technologies (SCT) department in SINTEF Digital. The Smart Data Group provides research-based expertise in data management / Big Data, Internet of Services and Internet of Things technologies, cloud computing, model-driven development, quality and security technology, user-centred development, and language technologies. The group brings expertise in distributed data management technologies relevant to the design and implementation of data-driven platforms (e.g., through HE enRichMyData, HE UPCAST, H2020 DataCloud, proDataMarket, euBusinessGraph, EW-Shopp, and FP7 DaPaaS projects). This group has been active in the design and implementation of approaches, tools, and services for data publication and data management as well as implementation of data sharing techniques.

SINTEF Ocean, part of the SINTEF Group, is a multidisciplinary research institute who undertake about 600 projects per year under the vision "Technology for a better society", with the mission to develop the ocean industries of the future.
