Work Package Overview
The TwinShip project is scheduled for completion over a 36-month period with a WP structure comprising 08 interconnected WPs presented below.
WP01 - DT/DSS Framework Requirements, Model Evaluation, & KPIs
Objectives: To define the user and functional requirements for the DT-enabled DSS framework and establish an innovative evaluation methodology for SoS DT, incorporating KPIs to measure ship performance and aid in creating 'best practices' for the DT ecosystem (including IoT architecture, interoperability, and applications) in shipping.

WP02 - VesselAI Advanced Digital Platform Enhancement & Data Collection
Objectives: To enhance the VesselAI digital platform into a holistic data management system, equipped with communication, storage, and security features to process diverse data sets for TwinShip. This involves setting efficient data collection protocols, maintaining data quality, and enabling smooth information exchange to build precise and dependable DT models of Pilot vessels.

WP03 – EPCD based VDCS Development
Objectives: To create the VDCS using EPCDs for Pilot vessels, leveraging hydrodynamic models and multi-physics simulations to systematically manage data on existing and emerging green fuel & technologies. This setup will enable AI and ML-driven analysis, aiding in the creation and enhancement of DT models for Pilot vessels.

Objectives: To create and test advanced green DT models incorporating multi-physics simulations and detailed data structures for various vessels, ship systems, and green fuel & technologies. 4 DT models, including 3 Pilot vessels and a futuristic vessel, will be developed and applied in real-world settings to prove the framework's efficacy and showcase the innovation's impact on ship operations.

WP05 - Operational & Future Vessel Decision Support Systems
Objectives: To create a unified DSS by integrating advanced simulation tools with the DT/DSS framework, offering detailed environmental and commercial performance predictions. This system will assist ship designers, owners, and operators in making informed decisions about adopting green fuels & technologies for immediate & long-term planning.

Objectives: To demonstrate the performance of the DT/DSS framework in a real-world environment, verifying the TwinShip innovation’s capacity to increase vessel energy efficiency and reduce emissions, and also to increase the confidence of investors concerning the cost-benefits accrued through current and emerging green fuel and technologies.
